Pop Culture, Migration & Revolution: Transnational Responses to Injustice

This unique and critical event brings together some of the most exciting artists from the transnational Australian underground hip hop scene to perform and share conversation with the audience.

The event will feature a selection of Australia’s radical performance poets, musicians and artists in a discussion that will culminate into a party featuring DJ’s and Middle Eastern food.

This event is a lead up to the development of WATAN a new activist hip hop musical exploring the lived experience of young migrant Australian poets and musicians from Western Sydney.

Artists Candy Royalle, Kween G, Willo The’Apak, Mark Munk, Zainab Kadhim, Kazi A Mamun, and The Pirates.
Facilitator Dr Omid Tofighian (RSS, University of Sydney)
Partners Australian Theatre for Young People (ATYP) and the Religion, State & Society Network (University of Sydney)
