Throughout the year, PYT Fairfield will support the following Western Sydney artists to develop their new performance works.

Mara Knezevic and Josipa Draisma

The Hen House is new music theatre work inspired by the extraordinary, humorous and tragic true stories of female migrant factory workers, including the life of Bernarda Papic, late grandmother to sisters Josipa and Mara, who worked at Ingham’s Chicken Factory in Western Sydney from 1968 – 1998.

KD Robinson

Stage Soldiers explores KD’s experience with identity growing up within Australia’s contemporary military system. Through this work, KD will also interrogate and the psychological and dehumanising effects of human conflict within military history.

Low Standards

Collision is a fierce multi-disciplinary, devised theatre piece exploring the similarities between the queer and disabled experience told in AusLan dialect.

Bernadette Fam
A one woman show exploring the experiences of first-generation Australian children and the discoveries about their parents’ past.


Angela Johnston is the recipient of our 2021 Career Development Mentorship.

Angela is an actor and theatre maker from Western Sydney who is inspired by theatre that ignites joy. She is a graduate of the University of Wollongong’s Bachelor of Performance (Acting) and has performed in independent productions around Sydney, including Ingle (Shopfront), Pretty Fly for A Dead Guy (Shopfront), Once in Royal David’s City (New Theatre), Persuasion (Genesian Theatre) and Kallistei (Sydney Fringe). She has been a proud member of the PYT Ensemble since 2018.
