Dance Diaries; PYT Accessible Program

PYT has developed a long term creative development working with Woodville Alliance and local participants living with disability to shape our accessible program, led by choreographer Linda Luke.

In 2016-17, Linda Luke has teamed up with film maker, Martin Fox and sound designer, Michael Toisuta to work with a group of 6 dancers to further develop and explore the participants’ dance practice and collaborate to make a film, called ‘Dance Diaries’, that explores notions of Home.

DANCE DIARIES: Reflections of Home

Friday 31st March 6pm – 8pm

2015, ‘Being Moved’

In 2015, PYT produced ‘The Dance’, a collaboration between Linda Luke, a choreographer, Heidrun Lohr, renown performance photographer and 12 participants from the Woodville Alliance.

‘The Dance’ was  developed through a series of weekly workshops held throughout 2015 that explore the extraordinary and unique power our bodies have to move and to dance. The workshop series culminated into the publication of a photographic book, ‘Being Moved’, which celebrates the unique ways in which we can move. The launch of the book was held on the International Day of Disability, December 3rd 2015 where the participants performed a dance chorerography and an animation developed from images taken throughout the workshops was screened in the PYT theatre.
