The PYT Ensemble program supports the development of a group of outstanding emerging Australian artists from the Western Sydney region aged 18-28 years.

The selected group participates in a half-yearly program of workshops and masterclasses led by experienced artists and arts professionals and attends industry events.

The Ensemble meets weekly (Monday 10 am to 1 pm) throughout the year to gain intensive skills development in performance and multi-disciplinary making.

If you are a young creative from Western Sydney with a passion for performance, we want to hear from you!

Participate in this free program of workshops in training for the stage and screen. Topics include improvisation, writing, performing and creating original work for the stage. Meet other creative young people from Western Sydney and connect to the broader performance industry.

PYT Fairfield is the only professional theatre company in Western Sydney focused on developing and engaging local young and emerging artists as its core practice. The company creates acclaimed work featured in the Sydney Festival, Sydney Opera House, and The Biennale of Sydney and tours its work nationally. In 2022, 80% of all Ensemble members received paid work in the arts as a direct result of their participation. They also attended the OzAsia Festival in Adelaide as special guests and facilitated creative workshops for the local community.

If accepted into the Ensemble you will be given free access to our theatre spaces, weekly workshops, masterclasses and mentorships.

For the first time, a select group of Ensemble members will be invited to join the PYT Company program who will put on a major public performance in the second half of the year.
