PYT Fairfield is now accepting applications from young and emerging artists (18- 28 years) for our 2025 Ensemble Program.

If you are a young creative from Western Sydney with a passion for performance, we want to hear from you. Participate in a free half-year program of workshops in training for the stage and screen. Topics include improvisation, writing, performing and creating original work for the stage. Meet other creative young people from Western Sydney and connect to the wider performance industry.

PYT Fairfield is the only professional theatre company in Western Sydney focused on development and engagement of local young and emerging artists. The company has created acclaimed work featured in Sydney Festival, Sydney Opera House, Belvoir St Theatre 25a, and has toured work nationally.

Ensemble members receive priority for recruitment by PYT Fairfield for our busy roster of projects. In 2024, 93% of all Ensemble members received paid work in the arts as a direct result of their participation, either at PYT Fairfield or by many other arts organisations who come to us when looking for potential staff.

The Ensemble meets every Monday from 10am -1pm commencing 10th March and finishing 30th June, with a break for school holidays. 

If accepted into the Ensemble you will be given free access to our theatre spaces, weekly workshops, masterclasses and mentorships as well as free tickets to many of our partner organisations. At the end of the program, a select group of Ensemble members will be invited to join the PYT Company in the second half of the year. The PYT Company will create a live performance work to showcase at PYT Fairfield. Company participants will also travel to an interstate festival to gain knowledge and experience from some of the industry’s most significant makers.
