PYT welcomes Tammy Dang, 2022 Ensemble Alumni awarded the Lansdowne Scholarship 2023, a week long residency at PYT Fairfield in 2023 where she will have the opportunity to create a new work.
Tammy Dang was also awarded a 2022 Ensemble micro-commission in which she used her funds to create a short film.
Tammy Dang is a writer, director, filmmaker, theatre-maker visual artist, and photographer based in South West Sydney. She is currently studying Media (Screen and Sound Production)/Law at UNSW. She has been running an art and stationery business, Little Paper Blossom, since 2020. It is currently stocked in 5 physical stores across Australia and has hundreds of online customers. Tammy also has experience with writing-directing, animating, and filmmaking, including camera operation, sound recording, and editing. Her short film was shortlisted in the top 50 for Tropfest JR in 2016 and her animation was shortlisted for her University showcase in 2020. She has also worked on commercial client projects as well as short films. Tammy currently works as an event and portrait photographer, with experience at the Carols in the Domain, Vogue convention, Stranger Things Exclusive Event, high school formals and shopping centre promotions. In 2022 Tammy acted as Production Assistant and AV Operator for ‘Action Star’ at the OzAsia Festival in Adelaide. Tammy was also an Assistant Stage Manager and Stagehand for ‘Cherry’, and has previous performance experience in theatre shows too.
