The Assessment

The Assessment is an intergenerational drama exploring memory, identity, and the quiet ache of letting go. Amira, an independent Iraqi-Jewish grandmother, begins to slip into the fog of Alzheimer’s, drawing closer to her granddaughter Essie through fragmented stories of survival. As past and present blur, Amira’s memories resurface with unexpected urgency. Earmarked by the parallel voice of Jacob, Amira’s son, the story weaves between his desire to move forward and the weight of responsibility holding him back. As tensions rise and truths unravel, a twist reframes the family’s intentions; raising questions of legacy, care, and the fragility of memory.’
