About PYT
PYT Fairfield, is a small performing arts company with a reputation for brave and transformative theatre exploring critical issues of our times and Australia as a culturally diverse nation.

If you are committed to the performing arts and thrive in a dynamic environment, we would love to hear from you!

Work Experience and Work Placement
PYT Fairfield receives hundreds of requests for work experience and work placements every year, and while we are always happy to bring students on board, we want to make sure the program is beneficial to both students and the organisation.

At present, PYT has:

  • A formal partnership with South West Connect. Therefore if you are a Southwest public school student studying a Business or Entertainment VET course, you can connect directly through South West Connect here: https://www.swconnect.org.au/workplacement/
  • Partnerships with tertiary organisations WSU, ACPE and USYD through their Business and Arts schools. If you are a student of any of these organisations, please also complete the form below.

For all other enquiries please complete the form below. Please note that priority will be given to students who are:

  • Currently living in Western Sydney (with an additional preference for those in Southwest Sydney)
  • Students studying either an arts or business course, degree or other, with preference for interest in the performing arts.
  • Students whose start dates are flexible (as PYT can only accomodate some dates throughout the year)

Before applying please note the following:

  • To be considered, you will need to submit your application at least 8 weeks before your preferred start date.
  • Students must be in at least Year 9 to access the work experience and work placement program.
  • Due to the high volume of enquiries, we’re unable to offer placements to every applicant.
  • Be as detailed in the application as possible. If there are expectations, cultural or access requirements for your time on site, please note that in the application so we can be sure to accomodate.
  • Please also let us know your dietary requirements, emergency contact information, whether you have a working with children check, white card, drivers licence, first aid or any other thing you think we may need to know. This additional information is not a requirement of your application but helps us determine the kind of roles we can place you in.
  • Students must have insurance through their school or tertiary institution.

For any questions relating to the application, please email admin@pyt.com.au

We look forward to welcoming you to PYT Fairfield.
